As from 1st October 2011, the new Lombok International Airport has started operations located in the south of Lombok and only about 1 hours from Senggigi beach by car. Flight from Jakarta are operated by Garuda Indonesia, Merpati, Lion Air . Lion Air make a transit stop in Surabaya.
From Denpasar (Bali) to Mataram (Lombok) Garuda Indonesia has direct flights between Lombok. Merpati flies direct between Bali and Lombok four times a day. Lion Air flies between Bali and Lombok with three flights daily. The company share-codes with Wings Air. Trans Nusa Air operates flights between Bali and Lombok daily.
For International flights Jetstar Airways (a subsidiary of Qantas) operate direct flights between Perth (West Australia) and Lombok four times per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday). Silk Air flies direct between Lombok and Singapore, three times per week. Air Asia operates direct flights every day between Lombok and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
By ferry: The public ferry travels between Padangbai (Bali) and Lembar (Lombok) multiple times a day. The trip takes around four hours. Motorbikes and cars can be taken on the ferry. If you are prone to sea-sickness be warned that the trip can be rough. Ferries travel between Labuhan Lombok and Poto Tano on Sumbawa multiple times a day. The trip takes one and a half hours.
By fast boat: Blue Water Safariís run express boats from Bali to Lombok, the Gili islands and Lebongan Island. Marina Srikandi operates direct fast boat services every day between Padang Bai Harbour (Bali) and Senggigi (Lombok), arriving and departing from the jetty on Senggigi Beach. This is the only direct service between Bali and Lombok.
